Help Bulldog Haven NW & Seattle COLA!
My friends at Bulldog Haven NW are in desperate need of funds! As regular Fresh Jess readers know, I am a big supporter of Bulldog Haven NW & PAWS, with one bulldog angel in the sky and one adopted from BHNW. From their Facebook page:
"No sugar-coating it; we need your (tax deductible!) donations (and corporate matches!) urgently to help provide care for the many Bullies in our Rescue.
We have recently been asked to take in dogs with critical medical needs – dogs like Heff, whose story is below - and we have said YES, but their extensive medical bills have drained our funds."
"Heff was taken to the vet by his family, but surrendered when they didn’t have the funds to pay for the extensive surgery needed to remove the HUNDREDS of stones which stretched and damaged his bladder and urethra. The vet contacted BHNW, asking if we would pay the bill and bring him into our rescue…and we said yes…but that is just the first stage of addressing Heff’s needs. He has dental extractions ahead and will need lots of ongoing care to get his skin and coat healthy and to just feel good again.
We NEED your help, now more than ever, to help provide for Heff and the many deserving Bullies in our care.
Because every rescue dog deserves a Homecoming...please visit http://bulldoghavennw.org/09_donate.html to make a tax deductible donation online, and please share this post with your friends."
I hope you'll consider donating!
Seattle dog owners, your support is needed for a possible new off-leash dog park in Magnolia!
The Friends of Smith Cove Park invite your participation in the last public meeting regarding the planning of Smith Cove Park! The meeting will go over a preferred plan, which includes park features/uses such as: a hand-carried boat launch, beach access, multi-sport playfield, sand area for volleyball, family discovery and play areas, improved access and circulation, and much, much more! We need dog advocates to ensure a dog off-leash area is part of the plan!
Meeting details: Monday, September 21st, 7:00 P.M. at Magnolia Lutheran Church (2414 31st Ave. W)
Whether you can attend or not, go to www.seattlesmithcovepark.org for more information and to view the preferred plan (posted after this last public meeting), register your name and provide public comment (will be seen and considered by Seattle City officials).
