Post-Super Bowl Thoughts, From a Seahawks Fan

Sigh.

Like most of America, you are probably going about your night after watching Super Bowl 49, and you probably saw the Seahawks lose to the Patriots off of a baffling final play call. Ugh, it hurts. What a heartbreaker. I've been going through all the stages of grief and back again since the end of the game. I couldn't wait to get home so I could cry in the shower. We watched the game at my aunt's place about 45 minutes outside of Seattle, and the ride home was all the more excruciating with traffic. Even the traffic felt somber, confused and angry!

I thought for sure I'd be ugly crying it out when I got home. I did have one good ugly cry, but enough travel time had passed for me to absorb some of the players' tweets and sound bites from coach Pete Carroll's post-game interview. I feel like the Seahawks are handling this better than I am! My shower tears were sad for a minute, then for some reason, I just started smiling and laughing to myself.

Maybe I'm delirious from shell-shock. I don't know. I just started thinking about what an incredible season this was and I can't help but be happy and grateful. We have a classy team full of stand-up guys who love and respect each other, and we have every reason to be so proud of each and every one of them.

I've spent almost every Sunday (and the occasional Monday, Thursday and Saturday) watching these boys and live tweeting my emotions with an inimitable community of fellow 12s.

Tweeting with fellow Seahawks fans is probably my favorite reason for being on Twitter nowadays!

The magic we've all felt in the city the last couple of weeks is palpable, and it's something special to be able to feel part of your community in this way. The Seahawks have brought the fun and the swag to civic pride for sure, and I couldn't be more proud to be a fan and a Seattleite. What are we going to do for the next few months?

I love this team so much.

They remind me to push myself every day - 1-0 Championship mindset every day. They remind me to always be classy and graceful, even when trolls try to prod and argue with you on social media. They remind me to 'love your brothers' - your team, your family, your people. They remind me to be loyal. They remind me to rise above all the negative noise. They remind me that humility in your confidence is crucial. They remind me to always stick to my guns. I normally look up to women in various fields, but this team stays with me; grows with me as they grow themselves.

I'm so excited for what's to come in the future. The Seahawks are a young team, and we are just getting started!

I LOVE YOU FELLOW 12s!!! THANKS ALL FOR AN AWESOME SEASON!

I'm looking forward to chatting all offseason and sharing our agony as we wait for next season to start :)
