Fresh Wed: Starting the Wedding Planning Adventure & Seattle Wedding Show Recap
/Yo. Fiancee life is crazy y'all. I always told myself I wouldn't be "that" bride, but I can see how wedding planning can drive a woman insane. An overwhelming plethora of resources online and on social media. Family and friends on your ass with suggestions on how your wedding should go. People you don't even really know asking questions about the ring, the proposal and the big day. Now I understand why couples choose to elope!
It might seem to be a lot of pressure to make the big day perfect, but one saving grace for us is remembering to make it something that truly represents us. The key is in tuning out as much of the noise as possible. Jacob's been really involved from the get go, and I am so fortunate to have his input and opinions. This feels like a true team effort, and I won't have it any other way.
The two of us ventured out to the Seattle Wedding Show yesterday, just to get our feet wet and see what was out there in the universe of wedding vendors. I wasn't sure what to expect, and we went with an open mind. Overall, the show was fine. We were excited to meet venue contacts and floral design vendors we didn't know existed, and took notes on general planning and ideas. If I didn't have any event experience or a network in the city, I could see how the Wedding Show would be a big help. For us, it really re-affirmed some of the vendors we'd already had in mind for our day.
Going to the show was really our first foray into "wedding planning" action, and not gonna lie, it was a little nerve-wracking! We're so glad to have that out of the way & looking forward to designing a wedding that's all us.
