In our years of being bulldog parents, we’ve met our fair share of people who are just as crazy about their pets - if not more. I always love exchanging stories about how we got our pets (especially if they’ve got rescues too) and how these little creatures have changed our lives for the better. “Who adopted who?” comes up often, and I know for sure that Dougie, Spike, and Meatball have saved me more times than they’ll ever know.

We partnered with Petcurean a couple of months ago to share the #UpliftTheUnderdog contest, where one lucky underDOG available for adoption won a lifetime supply of Petcurean and more. I’m excited to announce the new Uplift the Underdogs: Cat Edition contest is live and open to all rescue groups and animal shelters across the United States and Canada through November 16, 2018!

It’s estimated that each year, 3.2 million cats enter U.S. animal shelters nationwide and 70 percent of those cats are euthanized, despite research showing that the majority are healthy and could have been adopted. Through the Uplift the Underdog: Cat Edition contest, Petcurean hopes you’ll see beyond the “imperfections” of these rescue cats and help them find the loving homes they deserve!

So how does it work? Rescue organizations are encouraged to enter their most overlooked but deserving cats for the chance to win a lifetime supply of Petcurean food for the winning cat and a 500-pound donation of pet food to the shelter or rescue group.

After completing the online application form, eight finalists will move to the next round.  During the finalist round, consumers will vote for their favorite cat through Petcurean’s website. The cat that receives the most votes within one week will be awarded the grand prize. The winner will be announced on December 3, 2018.

Several of the dog finalists in the last Uplift the Underdog contest have since been adopted!
